Koach Karl Dewazien is truly one of the original pioneers of youth soccer in America. He earned his United States Soccer Federation "A" license back in 1974. Since then, he has been the coaching director for the California Youth Soccer Association since 1978.
He personally developed his "modified Laws of the Game" for the younger youth players. These were soon adopted by the United States Youth Soccer Association which has become the standard throughout the United States and Canada.
Koach Karl initiated the youth soccer camp movement on the west coast of the U.S. and has since been a clinician for tens of thousands of youth soccer coaches throughout the country. He has contributed to every major soccer publication in the U.S. He is also a featured speaker at state and national soccer events such as the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and U.S. Youth Soccer Workshop and Convention.
One of his books, "FUNdamental Soccer Practice" has already been translated into Spanish and Japanese and is the official manual for youth soccer in the Peoples Republic of China. And, the book will soon be available in Korean
Koach Karl holds licenses and certifications including USSF Referee instructor, FIFA International Youth Coaching Academies, Dutch coaching courses, and DFB German Football Association "A" license, among many others.
His personal philosophy on youth soccer is, "The outcome of our children is infinitely more important than the outcome of any game they will ever play".
